A major Friendify update is here with smoother voice chats, group conversations, in-chat image generation, marketplace upgrades, safer NSFW handling, better memory, and a cleaner chat experience.

Friendify just received one of its biggest updates so far.
This release brings major improvements across voice, group chat, image generation, marketplace discovery, memory, safety, and the overall chat experience. A lot changed behind the scenes too, but here is the simple version: Friendify should now feel more alive, more flexible, and much smoother to use.
Voice is a big part of making AI characters feel natural, so this update improves the voice experience in a few important ways.
Call mode now supports streamed voice turns with progressive playback, making conversations feel more responsive instead of waiting for everything to finish first.
Voice messages and call mode are also now available across plans, including Free trial access, after fixing a provider limitation that was incorrectly blocking some users.
You can now create group conversations with multiple characters.
Characters can take turns speaking, and group chat supports plan-based limits so the feature stays stable as more people use it.
There is also an @all-style broadcast flow, where all participants can respond in the same round. This makes group roleplay, story scenes, debates, and character dynamics much more fun.
Image generation now works more naturally inside chat.
You can describe the kind of image you want, and Friendify can use character-specific appearance prompts to keep generated images more consistent with the character.
Image models are now managed through a catalog and can be selected per character. Image usage also follows plan-based limits, with remaining quota shown in the sidebar.
Friendify now separates SFW and NSFW image generation paths more clearly, with additional moderation for illegal or unsafe image requests.
For privacy and safety, NSFW images are stored in a private Cloudflare R2 EU bucket and served through authenticated access instead of public CDN links.
The marketplace now has stronger discovery and creator features.
Characters can be remixed with origin tracking, so users can see where a remix came from and follow the chain back to the original character.
Sharing links and referral attribution are also supported, making it easier to bring people back to a character or creator.
Marketplace pages now include better visual polish, SEO improvements, remix discovery, creator badges, rising creator highlights, and a one-comment-per-user rule for cleaner feedback.
Friendify now supports plan-based chat memory windows.
That means different plans can have different amounts of context available for conversations, helping characters remember more of the recent chat when available while keeping usage predictable.
Memory remains an important part of making AI roleplay feel more continuous and personal, and this update improves the foundation for that experience.
Age verification has been hardened for production use.
Friendify now has stronger flows around 18+ access and safer handling for adult content areas. NSFW-related systems are designed with clearer access control, private storage, and moderation boundaries.
The goal is simple: keep adult features separated, controlled, and safer without making the normal experience harder to use.
The chat workspace received design and scrolling improvements, making conversations easier to use for longer sessions.
Logged-out visitors now see clearer sign-in calls to action, and the dashboard includes more contextual guidance and a fuller product tour for new users.
Friendify’s Terms and Privacy Policy were updated to better cover image generation, voice features, payments, tips infrastructure, and voice-related data handling.
Some of these changes are preparation for future features, but the important part is that the product documentation now better matches what Friendify can do.
Creator tipping exists in the codebase, but it is not live yet.
We are not announcing it as an available feature in this update. When it is ready, it will get its own proper release note.
This update is a big step toward making Friendify feel more like a full AI character platform instead of just a chat page.
