We have shipped two major conversation upgrades: live web search grounding and improved memory controls.
These systems make Friendify chats more useful in two different ways. Web search helps characters answer current questions with fresh sources. Memory helps conversations keep track of important details over time, while staying under user control.
Friendify can now use Brave-powered web search when a message needs current information.
This is useful for questions about recent model releases, pricing, product updates, changelogs, news, events, and other facts that may change over time. When search is used, Friendify can attach sources to the assistant response so you can inspect where the information came from.
Web search is designed to stay controlled. It only runs for supported web chat flows, respects privacy settings, and can be paused globally if needed.
We also improved the search router so it understands natural requests like:
Follow-up messages now use the previous topic instead of searching vague phrases like “yes search please.” That means sources should be more relevant and less noisy.
Memory is now available as a clear web privacy permission.
You can turn memory on or off from Privacy Controls. When memory is on, Friendify can save and load relevant web character memories. When it is off, future web memory saving and loading stops.
Discord memory stays separate from web memory, so each surface can be managed more safely.
Both systems are built around user control.

Permission changes apply immediately. Data exports and deletion actions remain available from the same privacy area.
